The PRINCE2 Approach
PRINCE2 provides a framework for managing projects and conceiving them. This framework consists of three elements that allow users to approach any project with ease. These elements are:

Each element is further sub-categorized into seven categories. Let’s take a closer look at these elements.
This framework includes seven PRINCE2 principles. If they are not all up to the same standard in every project, it can’t be considered a PRINCE2 project. These are the principles:
1. Business Justification – It states that every project must have a continued business justification. Without this, its purpose could be lost.
2. Learn from your mistakes – This principle encourages you to learn from your mistakes throughout the life of a project. These learning experiences should be documented and taken into consideration immediately. 3. Roles and responsibilities – All team members should be aware of the roles and responsibilities. Stages are the best way to manage a project. To ensure efficient results, they should be monitored and supervised stage-wise after planning.
5. Manage by exception – Each business objective should include clear tolerances and the limit of authority.
6. Focus on the products – At the end of the day, the quality of products is what matters most. This principle focuses on this. PRINCE2 focuses on the delivery and quality of high-quality services/products.
7. Tailored to the environment – The approach should adapt to the project’s size, complexity, risk factors and nature. These factors will affect the user’s approach.
PRINCE2 has seven themes that explain how certain project management disciplines should be treated in order to determine their importance. These themes must be addressed continuously and in parallel throughout the project’s life.
1. Business Case – This describes the project’s objective, whether it is feasible, and whether it is worth continuing with the project.
2. Organization – It is important to clearly define the structure of the project and who it should report to.
3. Quality – This is the ability to determine if the product delivered meets the standards.
4. Risk – All risks that could be part of the project must be identified, assessed, and managed at each stage.
5. Planning – All questions related to project planning such as where, when, and how. should be answered clearly.
6. Change – Any changes made to a project should be identified and managed to minimize negative consequences.
7. Progress – It is important to continuously monitor and evaluate the progress of a project.
Seven processes complete the framework of PRINCE2, which outlines its approach to managing different projects.
1. Start a project – This involves preparing the project brief, assigning responsibility, and defining the approach.
2. Initiating the Project – At this stage, the planning begins and the relevant documents are prepared.
