This intermediate training video, featuring four videos, is by SPOTO trainer Keith Barker. It covers the knowledge systems administrators need in order to weigh the pros and cons for DirectAccess or VPN implementation and implement the right solution.
This is the new Microsoft Windows Server training.
As long as there is no mobility on the network, a network doesn’t need VPN or DirectAccess. It’s okay to never choose between VPN and DirectAccess if every device on the network is a router switch, printer, printer, or desktop computer that does not leave the building.
However, if mobile devices are accessed via smartphones, laptops, remote branches or work-from-home, then it is imperative that something be done to protect the network. This training explains the differences between DirectAccess and VPN. Both allow users to stay connected, but there are tradeoffs. This training will teach you how to set up and implement both.
This series consists of one-part topics on providing continuous connectivity and access for user devices, bypassing security barriers with the right protocol selection, reducing costs while maintaining network accessibility, and how to reduce security obstacles.
